Guide

A showroom website has one job: get the buyer to call you.

Nine things that do that work, and a few that look impressive and sell nothing.

Most dealer websites fail at the same point

A buyer arrives from Google on a phone, on mobile data, standing somewhere with one bar of signal. They have about ten seconds of patience. In that time they want to know three things: do you have a car near my budget, what does it cost, and how do I reach you.

Most showroom sites answer none of those on the first screen. They open with a full-width photo of a building, an animated banner, and a menu. The stock is two taps away and the phone number is at the bottom of a contact page. The buyer leaves and taps the next result.

A site is not a brochure. Every element either moves the buyer towards calling you or it is in the way.

The nine that earn their place

Roughly in order of how much difference they make.

  1. Your stock, on the first screen

Why it matters. It is the only reason the buyer came. A homepage that opens with a photo of your building makes them work for the thing they wanted.

How to do it. Put cars above the fold, with photo, price and year on each card. Nothing else earns that space.

  2. A price on every car

Why it matters. Hiding price to force a call does the opposite: buyers assume it is too expensive and leave. They cannot compare you against the listing they saw a minute ago.

How to do it. Show it. If a particular car genuinely needs a conversation, mark that one as "price on call" rather than hiding all of them.

  3. A phone number that dials on tap

Why it matters. Most of your traffic is on a phone. A number written as text is a number the buyer has to copy, and many will not bother.

How to do it. Use a real tel: link, visible on every page, not only in a footer.

  4. WhatsApp, with the message already written

Why it matters. Many Indian buyers will message before they will call. If they have to type an opening line themselves, a good share stop there.

How to do it. A WhatsApp button per car with the car name and link pre-filled, so pressing send is the only step left.

  5. Real photos, several per car

Why it matters. One photo reads as a stock image. Buyers want the interior, the odometer and the tyres because that is what tells them the car was looked after.

How to do it. Six or more per car, shot on a phone in daylight. Honest photos of an ordinary car beat flattering photos of a mystery.

  6. An EMI figure, not just a price

Why it matters. Most used cars in India are bought on finance. A buyer thinks in monthly instalments, and ₹24,800 a month is a decision they can make where ₹14.5 lakh is not.

How to do it. Show an indicative EMI on each car with a calculator they can adjust. Label it clearly as indicative.

  7. Specs that answer the obvious questions

Why it matters. Year, kilometres, fuel, transmission, owners. A buyer who cannot find these assumes you are hiding one of them.

How to do it. A plain spec grid on every car page. No prose where a table will do.

  8. It has to be fast

Why it matters. Your buyer is on mobile data in a tier-two city. A site that takes six seconds has lost most of them before it appears.

How to do it. Compress photos, avoid heavy sliders and video backgrounds. Test on 3G, not on your office wifi.

  9. One place every enquiry lands

Why it matters. An enquiry nobody reads is worse than no enquiry, because the buyer thinks you ignored them and tells people so.

How to do it. Every form into one inbox, with the buyer’s number attached, and an alert when one arrives.

What does not help as much as people think

A large animated banner, a background video, a visitor counter, a live chat widget nobody staffs, and a long "About Us" page. None of these move a buyer towards calling you, and the first three actively slow the page down on the connection your buyer is actually using.

A website also does not create demand. It converts the interest your Google listing and your reputation already generate. If nobody is finding you, a better site changes very little — fix the listing first.

Do it yourself, or let us

You can build all of this yourself with any website tool, and plenty of dealers do. It takes a weekend to set up and an hour a week to keep stock current.

That is what we do for ₹500 a month: your own site with every car on it, a printable QR for each one, ready WhatsApp posters, and your Google profile scored every two weeks so you know what is still missing. Month to month, cancel any time.

Questions dealers ask

Kya Facebook page kaafi nahi hai?

Page se contact ho jaata hai, par stock, price aur EMI theek se nahi dikhti, aur Google listing par website field khaali rehti hai. Page rakhein, par website ki jagah nahi le sakta.

Price dikhana chahiye ya nahi?

Dikhana chahiye. Chhupane se customer maan leta hai ki mehngi hai aur aage badh jaata hai. Kisi ek gaadi par baat karni ho to usi ko "price on call" likh dein, sab ko nahi.

Kitni photo daalein har gaadi ki?

Chhe ya zyada — andar, meter, tyre. Ek photo se lagta hai stock photo hai. Din ki roshni mein phone se kheenchi saaf photo kaafi hai.

Site kitni jaldi khulni chahiye?

Mobile data par do-teen second. Bada video ya slider hata dein; aapka customer office wifi par nahi hai.
